We first met in 2008 working on Al Franken’s Senate campaign. We were both running around all over the state putting together events, Mike in Northern Minnesota and Chelsie in Southern Minnesota, and conveniently scheduling our “office time” in the cities for the same days. Post Franken’s campaign both of us worked various jobs in and out of politics. We worked for a couple of different candidates and somehow still found time for Mike to take a job in China for 6 months and for Chelsie to work on a farm in Rushford, MN for a growing season.
Even through all the travel and time apart, we found a way to make it work. We visited each other in China and Rushford, had other great trips and even volunteered for each other’s campaigns. Through it all we have put on over 200,000 miles on our cars together (eep!) and over 75,000 miles in the air. We look forward to the years ahead of many more miles.
Some of our favorite memories
together over the past years have been:

Being in D.C. for Franken’s swearing in at the Senate

Visiting the Great Wall in China

Visiting the State Fair EVERY YEAR

Madison supporting workers rights

Spending time in Thailand

Exploring Maui

Driving to Montana to meet Mike’s family, and visiting hot springs in the mountains

You technically only need the bride, the groom and legal officiant
to get married, but we couldn't imagine doing it without our
family and best friends by our sides. They’ve been helping us all
along the way and supporting our relationship, so we thought
we’d give them a little shout out prior to the wedding day.

Waseca is a small town, but offers quite a bit for recreational activities. Lakes, trails and golfing are all around the community. There is shuttle service from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Mankato. From there we can work out a case by case basis to get folks over to Waseca. For more information about that service, please see this website:
